Hey babes, happy love day! Gotta love spending Valentine’s Day with your s/o, but I thought it would be fun for all my single ladies out there, or girls who can't spend the day with their bf (aka me), to have a GALentine’s Day party. Girls are more fun anyway right?;) I have always like Valentine’s Day, in a relationship or not, because it is a time where everything is pretty and pink and it gives you an excuse to drink wine and eat chocolate with your girlfriends, nothing better. Also, if you didn’t already know this about me, I LOVE hosting. Planning a night for my friends to come over and eat and drink and just have a grand time is what I live for. So, here is my guide to throwing the perfect Galentine’s party for all of your best gals!
First things first, the dress code. Everyone must wear their cutest pjs. Options include fluffy robes, slippers, and cute pj sets. It's important that everyone attending is comfortable, so they can sit around and watch movies while they eat junk food, but also cute and on theme. Maybe you even coordinate with everyone what to wear or get matching pjs, ya know for pics and stuff because we are obvs going to want some cute instagrams out of this night, no? Here are some cute options I found — Victoria’s Secret has some of the CUTEST V-Day sleepwear right now. Click for links!
The next, and most important topic, COCKTAILS! What would a girls night be without some fun drinks? Because what is better than getting tipsy and talking about boy probs?? NOT MUCH. Whether you stick with the Rosé or want to try making a fun themed cocktail just make sure there is plenty of booze for your ladies. Here are some cocktail recipes that I thought looked delish and are totally on theme.
Rosé - duh.
Cosmos - they’re pink and you can channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw.
Champagne with Strawbs - because we’re fabulous.
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini - um this sounds so yum! Recipe linked HERE.
Snacks, because what even is a party without food? For your Galentine’s Day bash, we want it all. Salty, sweet, savory and whatever else your heart desires. Healthy food isn’t really on the agenda for tonight - we’re going all out ok? My best food ideas for a Galentine’s Day party are as followed:
Chocolate covered strawberries - the epitome of Valentine’s Day.
Cake pops - very good for the aesthetic.
A good cheese tray - great to nibble on throughout the night and who doesn’t love cheese?
Macaroons - to make you feel fancy.
Red velvet Cupcakes - because what other time of the year do you really get to eat them?
Heart shaped Pizza - you can make your own or most places will make them for you if you ask.
Donuts - V-day colors only, makes for great IG photos.
Next up: Movies. I LOVE a movie night ESPECIALLY with my girls so I can watch all of my favorite movies (not, like, action movies ya know?) Galentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to watch all those cheesy/girly movies your bf never lets you watch. Whether you are looking to laugh, cry, sing, dance or just have it on as background noise, there is a movie for every mood. There are honestly too many good movies for an occasion like this. Below I have listed for you some of the best chick flicks of all time. Enjoy.
50 shades - you know why.
The Notebook - the ultimate chick flick.
13 Going On 30 - BEST MOVIE AND SOUNDTRACK OF ALL TIME.
Sex and the City - a girl gang we can all aspire to be like.
A Walk to Remember - bring on the tears.
Grease - a classic — also get ready for a sing and dance party.
My Best Friend’s Wedding - excellent cast and another classic.
Lastly: Decor. Tying it all together with V-day decorations is what will make your party a hit (plus make for some great photo moments;) ) Think about how you want to decorate your space. All pink and red? Maybe some gold? Minimal or super extra? You can see some inspo below from my Pinterest board HERE.
No need to spend a bunch of money or redecorate your entire house, a few simple but cute ideas will go a long way and really bring the party together.
Balloons that say something fun like XOXO, GIRL GANG, or LOVE
V-day themed wine glasses
Galentine’s Day plates and napkins
And there you have it! A perfect Galentine’s Day party. Follow this guide and you’ll be the best host in town and your party will for sure be all over the gram. So go grab your champagne, put on your slippers, turn on some Ariana Grande and laugh the night away with your best gals. Don’t forget to do group face masks, mani-pedis, and talk about boys all night long. Wishing you and your babes a happy love day from me and mine <3 Cheers!
